Popis - LIGHTHOUSE (ASIA):
Released in 1969, Lighthouse's self-titled debut album was one of the first LPs of the psychedelic era to convincingly combine the verve of jazz with the muscle of rock. The thirteen-member Canadian band were distinguished from their jazz-rock peers by using classical-oriented musicians and influences as well, the arrangements making innovative use of an electric string quartet. Comprised mostly of original material by drummer Skip Prokop (formerly of the Paupers) and keyboardist/vibraphonist Paul Hoffert, the songs deftly balanced tempos, mood shifts, and improvisational interplay between strings, horns, keyboards, and guitar that had rarely been heard in a rock context. Also included on the record were unusual covers of the Byrds' psychedelic classic "Eight Miles High" and Richie Havens's "No Opportunity Necessary." Digitally remastered from original RCA master tapes. Housed in LP miniatured sleeve with RCA innersleeve replica
