Popis - BEYOND BITCHIN':
'How can funny sound this pretty?' THE NEW ENGLAND FOLK ALMANAC Starring Sally Fingerett, Debi Smith, Megon McDonough, and Camille West, The Babes continue their musical journey through the joys and dilemmas of everyday life--from love (My Kinda Man) and spirituality (Body Is A Car) to information overload (I Don't Wanna Know) and uplifting experiences (Viagra In The Waters). For Beyond Bitchin', their fifth CD, The Babes turned to Grammy winning producer Jeff Bova who collaborated with them to create a recording of remarkable beauty, depth and wit. This sophisticated studio CD shows how these talented musicians and songwriters/singers have a penchant for a good time mixed with left of center satire, with heartfelt truth thrown in for good measure. 'The combination of these women works as well as sodium and chloride or oxygen and hydrogen. They combine with a bang and result in an essential substance...The Bitchin' Babes have never been better!' SING OUT MAGAZINE Recorded during a 3 week period at a reclusive guesthouse/recording studio in Massachusetts, the gals employed Jeff Bova, (Celine Dion) NY's finest engineer producer. Guitars, Bass, and Mandolin by East Coast great, T Bone Wolk (Saturday Night Live Band, bass player for Hall and Oates), and percussion by Shawn Pelton. A mandolin gives the first track a distinctive arrangement with a great Debi Smith pop song, 'Little Stars' while Debi teams with Tom Paxton to write a bouncy tune called 'My Kinda Man' about a guy who loves to cook. Sally Fingerett's 'This Town's All Right', in which the singer asks her lover to, 'Take me out on the town tonight,' to a jangly accompaniment reminiscent of a honky tonk piano. If this album doesn't get your juices flowing and your feet moving, well, you're just outta juice. 'Toe To Toe With The HMO' is as funny as it gets with the reality check of today's on hold while suffering in pain. 'A stellar group of contemporary artists who swim the emotional river with humor and poignancy.' THE LOS ANGELES VIEW
