Stephen Mallinder of Cabaret Voltaire had a house named Hula Kula back in the '80s. Apart from an endless list of guests, members of Hula (who named themselves after the house) used to live there as well. Ron Wright of Hula and Mal of the Cabs recorded a piece of music together entitled 'Tenement Noise' back in 1981. This unique document has never seen the light of day, until now! And because they want to give you even more, Ron and Mal have made new versions of the track in 2013-2014. 'Tenement Noise' is a rough, abstract piece of dark ambient/industrial soundscape. The new versions also include beats and take the original to somewhere quite exciting and very different. A must have for any Cabaret Voltaire, Hula, Clock DVA, 23 Skidoo, Sheffield funk and '80s industrial fan.
