Leaving behind the satire, irony and kraut-extravaganza, Astrakhan's VESPERO created an impressive lyrical work inspired by visions of their homeland. Stylistically, "Droga" (from Italian: herb, spice, fragrant, drug, etc.) marked a distinct shift to the progressive rock area. This is all instrumental eclectic prog-rock with traces of Southern Russia's ethnic music and jazz-fusion, though the presence of space-kraut-psychedelic elements is still very strong. Whatever you label it, this is an astonishing musical journey through time and space which lovers of modern instrumental rock will enjoy.
