Popis - IN THE MOOD FOR MEMPHIS 2 / VARIOUS:
In 2003, Inside Sounds introduced In The Mood For Memphis, a collection of Memphis-themed songs celebrating the city where rock â€?n’ roll was born. The concept CD was based on the fact that “Memphis” is mentioned in more song titles than any other city in the world. The recording generated tremendous local press and was commercially successful. In The Mood For Memphis Vol 2 celebrates Memphis with another eleven songs and promises to be another successful recording compiled by Inside Sounds. Keith Sykes & Reni Simon’s opening track “In The Mood For Memphis” sets the tone for this upbeat, rockin’ CD. The Beat Generation’s “Memphis Train” follows with another driving rocker. Jack O. & The Tearjerkers’ take on Mott The Hoople’s “All The Way From Memphis” is underground garage at its best. Jimbo Mathus, former member of The Squirrel Nut Zippers, shares his story of a trip to the big city in the clever “Memphis Bound.” While eccentric songwriter Wally Ford’s “Moose Of Memphis” is a somewhat bizarre tale, Chris Cain’s “Movin’ Back To Memphis” is a humorous blues perspective on someone whose girlfriend is lured by the bright lights of Beale Street. Veteran songwriters Bob Simon & Randy Haspell add some rockabilly flavor with “The Sun’s Gonna Rise Again In Memphis,” featuring Amy Lavere on upright bass and Paul Taylor on drums. Specially priced, this CD retails for less than $11.00 and includes a 6-page booklet with brief deions of the artists.
