REPRESSED. Willowglass is another of those intrepid musicians, along with Root and Rain for example, that is ploughing a lone furrow out there on his own (well, sort of, Dave Brightman helps out with some drumming). Willowglass is actually Holmfirth based Andrew Marshall, and along with Rain and Root could and should be pushing Troy Donockley and Julian Gregory for the CRS multi-instrumentalist crown. On this release his music is quite varied instrumental prog, with echoes (no pun intended) of Pink Floyd, a little Yessy in places, and with a hint of Genesis. Overall it is a mellow listen, with well constructed tunes allowing either the guitar or keyboards (hammond and mellotron) to shine. The production is very good for a private pressing, and theres an attractively designed cover too. Hed love to put a band together to play his material, but for now youll just have to listen to the CD.
