Popis - SOULFUL MAN:
Cliffsight, four guys from Hanau near Frankfurt, all in their early twenties, perform on their debut album a mixture of "old" and "young" progressive/ psychedelic rock styles combined with heavy blues rock, slightly grunge influences and stoner rock. If you listen to the music, its not a surprise, that Cliffsight appreciate "old heroes" like Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and younger bands like Sleepy Sun and Crippled Black Phoenix. All these influences led them to something new and unique. Lead guitarist Felix Topitsch plays with remarkable virtuosity, power and is "specialized" in creating superb melodies, the ever- present amazing bass lines from bass player Martin Prasche are a full attack on all senses and drummer Adrian Schein holds it together with his excellent drumming. Above all singer/ second guitarist Tim Cammerzell rules with his fantastic wide- ranged and utmost expressive voice. The album starts with "Quatorze", a ten minutes long impressive piece of sound, which starts with soft tuneful guitar chords and sensitive vocals, soon followed by a heavy guitar riff and a drastic chorus and ends in a dramatical " Grand Finale". This first climax of the album is followed by heavy blues title "Alter Ego", that shows the bluesier side of Cliffsight. "Jasper Jazz and Billy Blues" and "Illusion", introduced by some fine jazz chords demonstrate Cliffsights ability to play varied styles of heavy progrock. The album closes with 20 minutes opus "Blue Grandma Sun", a real killer suite, which provokes just one reaction, you want to hear it once more. This album is a drug, but a healthy one! A terrific debut album!!! Cover artwork is by Helmut Wenske, well-known and famous painter of a lot of bacillus/ Bellaphon albums in the 70ties (Nektar, Dzyan, Pell Mell a.o.).
