This 1971 work by Roy Haynes and his group The Hip Ensemble, now reissued on CD, was recorded for Mainstream Records. The group featured two young players who went on to achieve great success, tenor player George Adams and trumpeter Marvin Peterson. The music is a typical early-'70s mix of modal and free jazz, played by a group that is half way between acoustic and electric.
