Live At The San Francisco Museum Of Art January 16th 1965. Broadcast live on KPFA radio on the 39th birthday of David Tudor, this historic concert thundered through the sculpture court of the San Francisco Museum of Art before a capacity audience that included Bay Area arts dignitaries such as Darius Milhaud. The volume level was raucous, and live electronic music has never sounded more vibrant. Opening with a work performed on a single cymbal, with contact microphones agitated by a wide gamut of objects, and concluding with speakers outside the performance space interacting with ones next to the audience, this was truly an affair to remember, and is presented here together with background notes and images.
