Chakk existed between 1981 and 1987. The band's first single, 'Out Of The Flesh', was recorded with Richard H. Kirk at Cabaret Voltaire's Western Works studio. Chakk's original sound was centred around a 4-track recording machine, home built echo and other effects boxes and a small mixing desk. The first album was originally released on tape by the band itself in 1982. Personnel for this album included Mark Tattersall (also in Element/Transelement, drummer for Cabaret Voltaire), Mark Brydon (also in Moloko, Hula), Sim Lister (also in Heights of Abraham)m and Alan Cross (DJ Alan X). This early recording, unheard by most people until today, presents a much jazzier and funkier Chakk than heard on the later releases. This CD features remastered recordings and is suitable for fans of Clock DVA, Cabaret Voltaire, industrial music, etc.
