Popis - CONMIGO:
Jairo A. Sequeira was born in a little town in Nicaragua known as Chinandega. He is one of six children born to a Nurse and an Attorney. He made it through his early school years, up to high school, in between bullets and revolutionary civil revolts. He grew up listening to all types of music from The Beatles, Disco, Pop, Gospel and mainly Folk Revolutionary Music, also know as Protest Songs. (During Somoza's government if you get caught singing a protest song you were a dead man). He started learning to play the guitar to express his thoughts about the social problems surrounding him - mainly issues of injustice and corruption. Jairo left Nicaragua in 1984, five years after the communist revolution in Nicaragua. He traveled across El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and finally arrived in Texas, where he was put in jail and threatend by Immigrant Police. But because of Ronald Reagan's deal which granted Nicaraguans amnesty in exchange for bombing Nicaragua via the Contras and Oliver North, Jairo was set free. (What a deal.) Once settled in the United States, Jairo continued writing songs for the Christian community and also formed a Non-Profit Organization in the United States to help the Victims of War in Nicaragua. He began to write commercial songs to raise funds for the Non-Profit Organization. Jairo's music is played on many radio stations in Nicaragua, Central America, Mexico and the United States and is also on Garage Band.com. Jairo is currently working on his first album in English and beginning to market his music to continue raising funds to help the poor in Nicaragua and now South Africa as well.
