A recording artist since 1968, Miller made eight albums for Capitol, culminating with the Joker, before releasing the multi-million selling Fly Like An Eagle, Book of Dreams and Abracadabra albums in the late 70s and early 80s. When Wide River was released in June 1993, it was his first album for five years and turned out to be his last album for 17 years, until 2010's Bingo!. It was recorded with his regular touring band and features all Miller's signature sounds. The booklet of this special edition contains all the lyrics, and a brand new note by San Francisco journalist Joel Selvin, based on a recent interview with Steve Miller himself.
