This beautiful, limited package merges a series of live and home recordings by the smokin' hot duo of Michael Flower & Neil Campbell, better known as two sixths of psychedelic drone masters Vibracathedral Orchestra, onto a full-length CD album with a further two tracks on a 7" single. It comes housed in a stunning, heavyweight, hand-numbered, 16-page screen printed book by Manchester illustrator Lucy Jones who created the artwork as a 'live drawing' project while listening to the music. WHARF CAT is a different beast to the duo's previous release on Golden Lab (a double cassette box, which sold out within an hour of being announced) and finds them in a somewhat mellower mindspace, yet it's still somehow off-the-charts wild and free. A heavy Velvet Underground influence is once more coming through and the set also pays a slight return to Campbell's obsession with the Metal Machinisms that peppered his earliest Astral Social Club releases. Treble-heavy, chugging and occupying the brain's most refined and oblique pleasure sensors, this is yet another essential set of prime guitar'n'synth mulch. Limited to 250 copies.
