After two EPs, Coupe Colonel releases its debut album, which features ten tracks. A mixture of influences from African funk to disco pop, from the 70's to the 90's. the lyrics as funny as they are depressing, cynical, recounting the absurdity of life and social conventions are wrapped in excessively danceable or even joyful music. An unusual contrast and it is reminiscent of what a Pierre Vassiliu was doing; inviting world music on lyrics that, disguised as absurd humor, told a darker reality.
